According to legend, a town once thrived on this very spot, until a great quake created the canyon...
and swallowed the entire town and its people.
The person who called you here did so with a written message, so you now await him, or her.
You: Hellllooooo!!!! Is anyone here??? I was asked to journey to this place to help someone!
Sapho Kuri enters
You: Uhh...hi there. Are you okay? Someone called me here for a reason...was it you?
Sapho Kuri: I am Sapho Kuri, daughter of the High Magistrate. I have been waiting a long time for my answer to pleas. Many seasons have passed since any feeling resembling hope has risen in my heart.
You: Oh my. That must be...sad. Hm. You look kind of pale. Are you feeling okay?
Sapho Kuri: I am a ghost. I feel nothing. So therefore, I cannot truly answer your question.
You: A...ghost? *whistles* I guess I'll be going back to my town then...
Sapho Kuri: NO! DO NOT LEAVE!
You: No problem! I'll stay right here then. So, uhh....Nice weather we're having, eh?
Sapho Kuri: Sorry for yelling. I need you badly. You see, my family...my entire town. They're TRAPPED. DOWN THERE. And I've been stranded on the surface for years.
You: Why is that? If you are a ghost, you are able to leave the land of the living any time you want.
Sapho Kuri: I could, but I do not want to. I've been waiting for a hero to come along. My family's spirits are being held hostage by The Vrictrus Spectre. He feeds off of their anguish and pain. Even the Reaper cannot claim the souls the Vrictrus keeps!
You: So you want me to go down there and fight something even the Reaper is afraid of? Hehehehe.... yeah, okay. That's a pretty silly thing to ask someone to do.
Sapho Kuri: I...need your help...
You: Uhh...right. Okay. I can help you. So, wish me luck. Here I go!!!
You jump down the Canyon of Lost Souls and take 3-9 Earth damage with 10% BTH.
You: Ooowwww!! Maybe I should have climbed instead of jumping...
You: Ooookay....here I am. This whole place has a very eerie glow to it. So far, no ghosts to be seen, and no Vrictrus Spectre either.

You: *gulp* I, uh, can't see you, whoever you are! Tell me where you are!

Ghosts fly up and out of the Canyon of Lost Souls, and you are given the Soul Carver.
You: There they go, free at last! Whoa! What is this weapon? Must have been given to me for defeating the spectre! Now, if I only had a Pegasid flying horse with me. I guess I'll just have to...climb...all the way...up. Hehe.
After a hard climb, you reach the surface where Sapho Kuri still awaits you...
Sapho Kuri: My family and friends have finally been set free from the clutches of that filthy Vrictrus Spectre!! Thank you so much! Now, I bid you well as I leave this realm for another!
Sapho Kuri leaves this realm for another.
You: Good bye, Sapho Kuri. May we meet again someday. Only may that day be after I've lived a long and happy life devoid of any more spectres!
